On move day the crew walks the house with you and makes a plan before anything gets loaded. We protect the home and the furniture, load, drive, then unload and put things in the rooms you want them in. The last thing before we leave is a final walkthrough to make sure nothing got missed.
Two houses with the same number of bedrooms can be completely different moves. What drives the difference is usually access and preparation.
A packed house where we can park near the door goes quickly. The same furniture with stairs, a long driveway, a long carry, or boxes still being filled takes considerably longer. Disassembly and reassembly, elevators, specialty items, and drive time all factor in.
What customers forget to mention is almost always the garage, the shed, the attic, or whatever is stored outside. It is easy to walk an estimator through the main house and not think about the rest. The other one is loose items. A few things on a counter does not seem like much, but across a whole house it adds up to real time.
